2010 Summer Stars Production

The information provided on this page is general information about the summer stars program.  Typically, the summer stars program is held in a large high school auditorium (Chantilly or Centreville).  Because of construction and other conflicts at the larger high schools, we are pleased to be able to offer our 2010 summer stars program in the much more intimate theater at Mountain View School.  This show promises to have all of the elements that you'd expect from The Alliance Theatre's typical summer stars productions including a very talented student cast, music, dancining and special surprises.  Please check back in the Nov/Dec timeframe to learn of plans for the 2011 summer program!

Summer Stars Information Minimize

Summer Stars is The Alliance Theatre's program for young people. Young actors work with counselors and professional artists to learn the performance skills necessary for participation in the summer musical. There is a tuition fee for Summer Stars (ages 7 through rising 9th graders). Auditions are required for all young artists.

The summer production is a musical extravaganza and includes adults, teenagers and summer stars.  This combination allows for the unique opportunity for adults to work "along side" with their children - whether it's on stage or in one of the numerous "back" stage capacities.

Over the years, the Summer Stars program has gotten "bigger" and "better".  In 2008, the cast of Beauty and the Beast, at over 90 people, was the largest TAT production ever.  Of the 90+ cast members, a little over 50 were summer stars.  These 50+ young professionals learned choreography; belted out songs; changed costumes (several times); wore stage makeup and made many friends.  They were guided by 2 directors, 2 choreographers, 4 counselors and numerous professional adults that shared the stage.
